Susanne Adamson

October 30, 1943 ~ December 21, 2021 (age 78)


Susanne Adamson (Perry, nee Siegfried), 78, of Las Animas, Colorado, passed away on December 21, 2021 after a battle with Covid-19.

Susanne was born on October 30, 1943 to James and Shirley Siegfried in North Tonawanda, NY. After moving to Littleton, Colorado when she was 17, she graduated from Littleton High School in 1961. She went on to study biology at Colorado State University. After marriage and children, she finished her degree at Southern Colorado College (now Colorado State University – Pueblo).

Susanne became a certified medical technologist and worked for several doctor’s offices and hospitals in Pueblo and Colorado Springs and for laboratory equipment companies in Texas and California. She retired from her career after working as the laboratory manager at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center.

Susanne had three daughters with her ex-husband, Larry Perry. Her daughters, Kristy, Kolleen, and Kelli greatly appreciated that Susanne was able to have a cordial and friendly relationship with their father.

Susanne married Robert (Bob) G. Adamson, on December 4, 1994. They built a life together based on similar work, gardening, and loving their children and grandchildren.

Susanne was an avid gardener. She became a Master Gardner for the University of California Cooperative Extension in Palm Springs, California. She and her husband, Bob, taught classes to help people learn to garden in the desert. Susanne was also an active member of the Palm Springs Plumeria Society, teaching classes on plumeria care and ornamental plants. Susanne battled the Palm Springs desert to grow many vegetables. She would can many of the vegetables to eat later in the year. When she returned to Las Animas, Colorado she grew a huge vegetable garden in her backyard.

Susanne was preceded in death by her parents, James and Shirley Siegfried and her nephew, Aaron Siegfried. She is survived by her husband, Robert G. Adamson; her brothers, James (Kathy) Siegfried and Michael Siegfried; her daughters, Kristine (Dan) Beisel, Kolleen (Clayton) Howe, Kelli Barnes; her grandchildren, Joey (Lauren) Beisel, Dustin Beisel, Michele Beisel, Sheridan (Beth) Howe, Rylea Howe, Emma Barnes, and Brielle Barnes. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren, Niko, Kai, and Sofia Beisel, Kairi Beisel, and Macy and Owen Howe.
