Memorial Services for Holly, Colorado resident, Taniska Eddy will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2019 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Holly, Colorado with Pastor Kathy Leathers officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Holly, Cemetery.
Taniska Kay Eddy, known to most as Tani, was born on May 10, 1948 in Lamar, Colorado to Vernon Plummer and Marie (James) Rushton. When Tani was just a young child her mother married Melvin Rushton. Melvin was overjoyed with having Tani in his life and soon adopted her. Tani attended Holly Schools until moving to California. While in California her son, Myron Gessing was born. The family then settled in Denver where Tani worked at Gates Rubber Company until becoming a hairdresser. In 1989, she moved back to Holly where she met Charles. Charles and Tani were united in marriage of December 18, 1996. Tani enjoyed doing stain glass, quilting, square dancing, working in her flower garden, and watching her grandkids, nieces, and nephews. Tani passed away at her home on November 2, 2019 at the age of 71.
Tani is survived by her husband, Charles Eddy of Holly, Colorado; son, Myron Gessing of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Amber Gessing and Andy Gessing of Greeley, Colorado; two great grandchildren, Seth Bishop and Weylyn Young; sister, Melissa Swopes (James Hendricks); many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Marie Rushton; siblings, Curtis Rushton on June 12, 2012, and Crystal Clymer on November 7, 2017; and niece, Meisha Rushton on October 5, 2000.
